Paturia: Ferry services on the Paturia-Daulatdia route were suspended today due to a nor’wester, sources at Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) said. BIWTC Paturia Ghat Deputy General Manager Abdus Salam confirmed that ferry movement on the route has been halted since 4:30 pm as the nor’wester swept across the Padma river route area.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, all engine-driven boats, speedboats, and launches have also been suspended due to the inclement weather. The decision was taken to ensure the safety of passengers and vessels amidst the turbulent conditions. The suspension of services is expected to continue until the weather conditions improve, ensuring safe navigation for all watercraft on the route.
