Fugitive in Disabled Child Rape Case Arrested in Dinajpur

Dinajpur: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested a fugitive accused in an eight-year-old physically disabled child rape case from village Kutubpur under Parbatipur police station of Dinajpur district today. The arrestee is identified as Md Mokaram Hossain, 55, of village Chakmusa under Chirirbandar police station of Dinajpur, as per a press release issued by RAB-13’s Senior Assistant Director (Media) and Additional Superintendent of Police Biplab Kumar Goswami.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the case was filed by the victim’s uncle, Md Rabbil Alamin, 21. The release highlights that the victim is a physically disabled child and the accused, Md Mokaram Hossain, is their neighbor. The victim, due to her condition, often wanders outside the house alone. On May 10, 2026, at 8.25 am, the accused allegedly lured the victim with chocolate and forcibly raped her inside a nearby bamboo cluster.



Following the incident, the victim experienced severe physical pain and reported the incident to her grandmother and uncle, leading to the filing of a rape case against the accused at Chirirbandar police station on the same day.



Based on secret information, a team from RAB-13’s Dinajpur Camp conducted a raid in Kutubpur village and apprehended the fugitive, Md Mokaram Hossain, at around 1 am today. The arrested individual has been handed over to the Chirirbandar police station for further legal proceedings.
