Dhaka: The 13th Jatiya Sangsad is poised to enter its first budget session tomorrow, marking a significant step since the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) assumed power following the national election on February 12, 2026. This session will be the second sitting of the 13th parliament and is scheduled to start at 3pm.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury is expected to present the proposed national budget for the 2026-27 fiscal year on June 11. This follows President Mohammed Shahabuddin’s decision to summon the budget session on May 07.
The inaugural session of the 13th Parliament concluded on April 30, during which members passed a total of 94 bills over 25 working days.
