Dhaka: The Embassy of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Dhaka has encouraged broader participation from Bangladeshi organizations in the 2026 Zayed Sustainability Prize. The Zayed Sustainability Prize, affiliated with Earth Zayed Philanthropies, is the UAE's pioneering global award dedicated to sustainability and humanitarian innovation. Submissions for its 2027 cycle are now open.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the Prize aims to uphold the vision and legacy of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the UAE's founding father, by supporting initiatives that promote a more inclusive and sustainable world. Nonprofit organizations have the opportunity to win a US$1 million cash prize under themes such as Health, Food, Energy, Water, or Climate Action. Additionally, Global High Schools winners can receive US$150,000 to implement or expand student-led projects in their communities.
Finalists in the nonprofit organizations category will receive US$100,000, while finalists in the Global High Schools categories will receive US$25,000 each. Winners of the Zayed Sustainability Prize will be announced during the 2027 Zayed Sustainability Prize giving ceremony. Notably, Bangladeshi participants, including school students, NGO representatives, and young entrepreneurs, have actively engaged in various cohorts of this prestigious initiative. Their contributions have been recognized through numerous awards across a range of categories.
