Dhaka: World Environment Day-2026 will be observed in the country, as elsewhere across the globe, tomorrow with a view to raising awareness about environmental protection. The government and various environmental and development organisations have undertaken different programmes to mark the day.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, World Environment Day is the United Nations' flagship initiative for promoting awareness and action for environmental protection. Over the years, it has grown into one of the largest global platforms for public outreach, observed by millions of people in more than 100 countries.
This year's theme is: 'Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future.' This theme underscores the importance of nature-based solutions and the role they play in addressing climate change and ensuring a sustainable future for the planet. Various activities and events are planned to engage communities and encourage them to take action for environmental preservation.
