Rajshahi: Rajshahi-3 constituency MP Advocate Shafiqul Haque Milon today paid tribute to Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, recognizing him as a leader of the masses and a visionary who transformed the nation’s aspirations into reality. He made these remarks while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion and doa mahfil held at the Mohanpur Upazila Parishad premises. The event was organized to commemorate the 45th martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Mohanpur Upazila BNP and its affiliate organizations hosted the programs, drawing participation from party members and supporters. During his address, Milon highlighted Ziaur Rahman’s unwavering dedication to public service. “Ziaur Rahman dedicated his life to public service without compromise,” Milon stated, emphasizing the impact of Rahman’s revolutionary 19-point program which resonated across various segments of society, ensuring his enduring legacy.
Milon further elaborated on Rahman’s capabilities, stating, “He (Shaheed Zia) did not just offer visions for the nation, he was a skilled craftsman who gave those visions practical shape. Under his far-sighted leadership, the nation found a clear path forward.” His comments underscored the practical achievements that were realized under Ziaur Rahman’s leadership.
The event concluded with a special doa mahfil seeking eternal peace for the soul of the departed leader. The program was presided over by Mohanpur Upazila BNP President Shamimul Islam Moon. Among those present were Former Upazila Parishad Chairman Professor Abdus Samad, Upazila BNP General Secretary Mahbub Ar Rashid, along with other local leaders and activists from the party and its affiliates.
