Naya paltan: Prime Minister Tarique Rahman today called upon BNP leaders and activists to support the helpless people across the country, marking the 45th martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Prime Minister emphasized the party’s long-standing tradition of aiding the destitute on this significant day since the martyrdom of Shaheed Zia. “We have tried as much as we can for the helpless people who are in different places on this day and those who are in difficulty,” he stated during an event where clothes and dry food items were distributed at BNP’s central office.
Tarique Rahman urged party members to take personal initiatives to stand by the needy, highlighting that this was a fundamental lesson from Shaheed Zia. He encouraged members to make a commitment to extend help according to their abilities, aspiring for collective success in aiding the helpless.
The event was attended by key BNP figures, including Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and other senior members. The Prime Minister reiterated the party’s dedication to supporting the underprivileged and called on the affluent to contribute similarly to change the country’s fate.
Earlier in the day, speaking at an event in Khilgaon, Rahman addressed the importance of maintaining a clean Dhaka city, urging residents to actively participate in reducing pollution and waste. He emphasized that while city corporations are working diligently, citizen cooperation is crucial for a cleaner environment.
Reflecting on Shaheed Ziaur Rahman’s legacy, the Prime Minister highlighted the former leader’s vision for a prosperous country and encouraged the continuation of efforts to build on this foundation. Rahman expressed confidence that with the cooperation of the people, the government would soon be able to improve the lives of the country’s citizens.
