Narsingdi: Two individuals lost their lives, and another was critically injured following a collision between a private car and a battery-run auto-rickshaw on the Itakhola-Monohardi road in the Ashrafpur area of Shibpur Upazila. The tragic incident occurred at approximately 11:30 am.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the deceased have been identified as 13-year-old Md Zunaid Sheikh, son of Al Amin Sheikh from Satpara village, and 19-year-old Md Rubel Sheikh, son of Khorshed Sheikh from Lakushi village, both in Shibpur Upazila. Zunaid’s mother, Mahfuza, suffered serious injuries in the crash.
Following the accident, locals promptly transported the victims to the Upazila Health Complex. There, the on-duty doctor pronounced Junaid Sheikh dead. Rubel Sheikh was subsequently referred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital; however, he succumbed to his injuries en route.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Kohinur Mia of Shibpur Model Police Station confirmed the incident. After completing legal formalities, the bodies of the deceased were returned to their families.
