Chittagong: Bangladesh Coast Guard has arrested two drug traffickers and recovered 112 cans of foreign beer from their possession during a drive in the Patenga area of the city.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Coast Guard Outpost Patenga carried out the operation in the vicinity of the Chinese Ghat near Patenga Police Station around 4 pm on Friday, as reported by Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujan.
The drive resulted in the arrest of two individuals involved in drug trafficking. Authorities seized 112 cans of foreign beer valued at Tk 78,400. Additionally, cash amounting to Tk 6,020, three mobile phones, and a CNG-run auto rickshaw used for drug transportation were also confiscated during the operation.
The press release further stated that legal procedures are currently underway concerning the incident.
