Agailjhara: Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapon emphasized the importance of maintaining communal harmony in Bangladesh, warning against attempts to disrupt it. Speaking at an Eid greeting exchange ceremony held at the Agailjhara upazila auditorium, Swapon stressed the necessity of countering any efforts to create division among the communities.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Swapon highlighted the long-standing peaceful coexistence of people from different faiths in Bangladesh. He noted that certain groups are attempting to artificially instigate communal discord and urged the community to remain vigilant against such divisive actions.
The event was organized by the BNP’s Agailjhara Upazila unit and its affiliated bodies. Swapon called on government officials to fulfill their duties for the country’s development and the welfare of its citizens, reinforcing the need for unity and cooperation among all sectors of society.
The ceremony was attended by Agailjhara UNO Likhan Banik, Upazila BNP convener Shikdar Hafizur Islam, and leaders and workers of local units of BNP and its associate bodies, reflecting a wide representation of the community in the call for harmony.
