Probe Body Formed Over Death of 6 Newborns at Ad-Din Hospital

Dhaka: Health and Family Welfare Ministry has formed a three-member investigation committee following the deaths of six newborn babies at Ad-din Medical College Hospital in the capital’s Maghbazar area. The committee has been tasked with investigating the causes of the deaths and is required to submit a report within the next three days, as stated in an office order released today.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a joint secretary for private health management of the Health Services Division has been appointed as the chairman of the committee. The deputy director (hospital-1) of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) will serve as the member secretary, and the assistant director (legal wing) of the DGHS will act as a member. The committee has the authority to co-opt any additional member if deemed necessary.
