Barishal: Three members of a family were killed in a head-on collision between a bus and a motorcycle on the Dhaka-Barisal highway in the Gouranadi area of Barisal this afternoon. The deceased were identified as Firoz Mahmud, his wife Monira Begum, and their child Jannat, all residents of Uzirpur upazila.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the tragic accident occurred when a passenger bus collided head-on with the motorcycle carrying the family, leaving them critically injured. Locals acted swiftly and transported the injured individuals to a nearby hospital, where medical professionals declared them dead upon arrival.
Officer-in-Charge Mohsin Hossain of the Gouranadi Highway Police Station confirmed the incident. Following the collision, police seized the bus involved, although the driver and helper managed to flee the scene. Authorities have initiated legal proceedings related to the accident.
