Dinajpur: The first Eid-ul-Azha jamaat in Dinajpur is set to take place at Gor-e-Shahid Boro Maidan at 8:30 am on Thursday. Deputy Commissioner Rafiqul Islam confirmed the timing following a review of the ground’s management.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dinajpur-3 parliament member Syed Jahangir Alam, along with senior government officials, was present during the inspection. A recent meeting by the district administration focused on preparations, ensuring the ground is ready for prayers.
Security measures have been heightened, as per sources from the Police Superintendent’s office. Multi-layered security protocols, including metal detectors at each entry point, have been implemented at the Eidgah. The congregation will be overseen through watchtowers, check posts, drones, CCTV cameras, and stringent intelligence operations. Law enforcement agencies, including RAB, BGB, police, and Ansar, will maintain vigilance around the venue.
