Heavy Rainfall Forecasted in Four Divisions by BMD

Dhaka: The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has predicted moderately heavy to heavy rainfall in the divisions of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, and Sylhet over the next 24 hours starting from 9 am.



According to United News of Bangladesh, a Met Office bulletin has indicated that light to moderate rain or thundershowers, which may be accompanied by temporary gusty or squally winds and lightning flashes, are expected in many places within the Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions. Additionally, some rainfall is anticipated in a few areas within the Dhaka and Chattogram divisions, while Khulna and Barishal divisions may experience rain at one or two locations.



The bulletin also reported that Feni recorded the highest rainfall in the last 24 hours, with a measurement of 101mm as of 6 am on Monday. Despite the rainfall forecast, day and night temperatures are expected to remain almost unchanged throughout the country.



Meanwhile, a mild heat wave continues to affect the Khulna division along with several districts, such as Dhaka, Tangail, Faridpur, Madaripur, Gopalganj, Rajshahi, Pabna, Sirajganj, and Patuakhali, and is likely to persist.
