Rajshahi: The main Eid-ul-Azha congregation in Rajshahi is set to take place at 7:30 am next Thursday at the Hazrat Shah Makhdum (R.) Central Eidgah Maidan. Various programs have been organized to celebrate the religious festival with due dignity and in a joyful atmosphere.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the timing for the main Eid congregation was decided during a preparatory meeting held on May 18, which was presided over by Deputy Commissioner Kazi Shahidul Islam. Should adverse weather conditions prevent the congregation at the central Eidgah, the prayer will be relocated to the Hazrat Shah Makhdum (R.) Dargah Jame Mosque at 8:00 am.
Eid congregations across Rajshahi city and at the upazila level will take place at times set by their respective management authorities. Security at the Eidgah will be monitored continuously to ensure a safe environment for worshippers.
On the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, authorities will provide improved meals at hospitals, jails, orphanages, and various child and development centers throughout the city. This initiative aims to extend the festive spirit to all sections of society.
The Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) is committed to maintaining cleanliness by swiftly removing waste. To protect the environment, RCC has urged residents to dispose of sacrificial animal waste at designated areas rather than dumping it indiscriminately.
