1,237 RCC Conservancy Workers Receive PM’s Eid Gift

Rajshahi: On the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Azha, the financial assistance provided by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman as Eid gifts for the conservancy workers of Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) was distributed. This noon, at a program held at the Green Plaza of Nagar Bhaban, RCC Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton, who was present as the chief guest, handed over the gifts to 1,237 workers.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, each of the 1,237 workers was given Tk 5,000, amounting to a total of Tk 61.85 lakh. At the beginning of the program, the Administrator expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister on behalf of the people of Rajshahi. In his speech, Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman said the humanitarian initiative of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman to provide Eid gifts to conservancy workers is not just financial assistance; it is respect, love, and recognition for them and their hard work.



He further said Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is working tirelessly to build a new Bangladesh. He has already implemented many election promises as pilot projects, including the distribution of Family Cards, Farmer Cards, waiver of agricultural loans, re-excavation of canals, and providing honorarium allowances to imams and muezzins. The RCC Administrator said the Prime Minister has given a directive to remove the waste of sacrificial animals within 12 hours.



He added maximum preparations have been taken to ensure a smooth celebration of Eid-ul-Azha, rapid removal of sacrificial waste, and to ensure a hygienic environment. For the first time, eco-friendly bags and bleaching powder have been distributed among city residents for meat preservation and waste management. In addition, salt has been provided to various madrasas and orphanages for preserving the hides of sacrificial animals, and assistance has been given to traffic police to reduce congestion.



The RCC conservancy workers expressed their happiness and delight upon receiving the Eid gift from the Prime Minister. Kohinur Bewa shared her joy, stating, “We are very happy to receive the Prime Minister’s Eid gift. We cannot express in words how happy we are. With this money, we will be able to do Eid shopping for our families and buy clothes for our children and grandchildren.” Another worker, Rumon Ali, remarked, “It feels very good to receive this gift from the Prime Minister before Eid. It has further increased the joy of Eid for our families. We express our thanks and gratitude to the Prime Minister.”



Worker Hashem Ali, who has been working for 15 years, reflected on the significance of the gift: “In the past, we never received Eid gifts like this. The money that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman gave us as an Eid gift last Eid-ul-Fitr and again this time will help us meet our household needs and buy clothes for our children. There is no limit to this joy.” The program was presided over by RCC Chief Executive Officer Rezaul Karim.
