One Held with 40,000 Yaba Pills in Cumilla Border Area

Cumilla: Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested a man along with 40,000 yaba tablets during an anti-drug drive in Cumilla border area early today. The arrested individual was identified as Md Abu Sayeed, aged 24, who resides in South Surjanagar village under Sadar South upazila of the district.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the operation was confirmed by Commanding Officer of Cumilla Battalion (10 BGB), Lieutenant Colonel Mir Ali Ejaz, this afternoon. A patrol team from Lakshmipur Border Outpost (BOP) executed the operation in the Durlavpur area, located about four kilometres within the Bangladesh territory from the border zero line.



During the operation, the BGB team detained Abu Sayeed and recovered 40,000 yaba tablets from his possession. Legal proceedings have been initiated against the detainee under the Narcotics Control Act. Following the necessary formalities, both the seized contraband and the arrested individual were handed over to Sadar South Model Police Station.
