Manikganj: A pedestrian was killed in a road accident at the Barangail bus stand area in the district today. The deceased was identified as Pannu, 50, son of late Shukur Ali, a resident of Tepri village under Daulatpur upazila.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Barangail Highway Police, Md Harun Or Rashid, stated that the accident occurred around 2:00 PM when a Paturia-bound truck hit Pannu, leaving him dead on the spot.
The police have seized the truck involved in the incident, but the driver managed to escape, the OC added.
