Rajshahi: Land Minister Mizanur Rahman Minu has lauded Rajshahi city as a place of pride for its contributions to education, not only within Bangladesh but across the entire subcontinent. “Rajshahi’s name is spoken with great honor for the spread of education,” he stated during a reception and scholarship award ceremony for meritorious students, organized by the Kindergarten Association at Rajshahi Teachers’ Training College.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Land Minister emphasized the pivotal role of teachers in restoring the dignity of educational institutions and nurturing the hidden talents of children. He highlighted the undeniable contributions of both parents and teachers to a child’s success, likening a teacher’s responsibility to that of a potter who shapes beautiful forms from clay. The minister expressed his hope that today’s meritorious students will become the leaders of the future.

Further commenting on the city’s development, the minister revealed government plans to establish more industrial areas, large universities, and educational institutions in Rajshahi. He pledged to transform the city into a beautiful, peaceful, and livable place and assured that any existing issues in educational institutions would be resolved promptly.

The event was presided over by Rafiq Alam, president of the Bangladesh Kindergarten Association, Rajshahi Metropolitan Branch. Special guests included Professor Dr. Bishwajit Banerjee, principal of Rajshahi Government Teachers’ Training College; Md. Hayatuzzaman Farhad, retired assistant professor of Godagari Women’s Degree College; and Md. Mizanur Rahman, law affairs secretary of the central committee of the Bangladesh Kindergarten Association. Participants of the event included kindergarten students and their guardians.

Later, the Land Minister presented crests and prize money to the meritorious students in recognition of their achievements.
