Dhaka: Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has provided Eid bonuses to sanitation workers of city corporations across the country. He handed over Eid bonus cheques to the administrators and mayors of all city corporations, said PM’s Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Ruman.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Prime Minister also instructed the administrators to maintain cleanliness in their cities and emphasized the importance of building clean urban environments. He urged the officials to implement initiatives for the regular cleaning of canals and drains to prevent waterlogging in urban areas.
The event took place at the BNP Chairman’s political office in Gulshan, attended by LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and State Minister Mir Shahe Alam. Administrators and mayors from 13 city corporations, including Dhaka North, Dhaka South, Chattogram, Rajshahi, Barishal, Khulna, and Sylhet, were present at the gathering.
Before Eid-ul-Fitr this year, the Prime Minister had previously given Tk 5,000 each as Eid gifts to sanitation workers of the city corporations.
