Three Drug Dealers Apprehended with 5,000 Yaba Tablets in Capital

Dhaka: Members of the Detective Branch (DB) have arrested three drug dealers along with 5,000 yaba tablets from the Sutrapur police station area in the capital. The arrestees were identified as Tahmina Akhter Mina, 32, Md Helal Uddin alias Alauddin, 32, and Md Sadar Uddin alias Shawkat Ali, 65, said a DMP press release today. After completing legal procedures, police produced the arrestees before the court.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a team of DB Uttara Division conducted a raid in the Sutrapur area around 11:40 pm on Thursday night and arrested them with the contraband yaba tablets. Police said the operation was conducted based on confidential information, leading to the recovery of the drugs from their possession.



The arrested individuals were reportedly involved in drug trafficking and had been operating in different parts of the city for a long time, frequently changing rented residences to evade law enforcement, the release added. Several cases are pending against the accused.
