Dhaka: BNP standing committee member Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan, MP, today inaugurated a research center focused on geospatial information analysis, planetary science, and space technology at Atish Dipankar University of Science and Technology (ADUST) as the chief guest. The research center, named ‘ADUST Center for Geospatial Intelligence, Planetary Science and Space Systems,’ was formally inaugurated at a ceremony held at the university auditorium.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Moyeen Khan remarked that this initiative is a timely and far-sighted step toward advancing the younger generation in the fields of technology and space research. He highlighted Atish Dipankar University’s pioneering role in this innovative endeavor.
Khan emphasized that the state-of-the-art research center will pave the way for solving national crises and exploring opportunities through rapid research. He noted that the center will make significant contributions, especially in disaster-prone Bangladesh, by assessing region-specific impacts of floods or disasters and facilitating quick decision-making through data mapping on crime-prone areas.
