Rampura: Rampura police today arrested a madrasha student from Bera upazila in Pabna district for his alleged involvement in a sexual violation of a madrasha student in the city's Banasree area.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a team from Rampura Thana, acting on a tip-off, arrested Md Shihab Hossa, aged 19, from Bera upazila of Pabna district at approximately 12:50 am today. Hossa is accused of the sexual violation of Md Abdullah, a student at Alokito Quran International Hafez Madrasha located in Banasree block-C. This grievous incident reportedly led Abdullah to commit suicide within the madrasha premises at around 10 pm on Tuesday.
Upon receiving the distressing news, a team from Rampura police arrived at the scene to conduct an investigation. During the examination of Abdullah's body, they observed significant external and internal injuries, indicative of sexual violations. These findings were documented in their investigation report.
Further inquiries by the police, which included questioning several individuals from the madrasha, revealed that the arrested student was allegedly involved in numerous other sexual violation incidents within the madrasha. This information pointed towards a pattern of misconduct by the accused.
In response to these revelations, Mosammat Tuku Ara Khatun, Abdullah's mother, filed a case with Rampura Thana, citing the sexual violation as the impetus for her son's tragic suicide. The arrested student has been presented to the court to initiate further legal proceedings.
