Chattogram: Three individuals, including a madrasha student, lost their lives in separate road accidents on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway in Sitakunda upazila of Chattogram district.
According to United News of Bangladesh, Zakir Rabbani, Officer-in-Charge of Kumira Highway Police Station, reported the death of Md Hasan, a 14-year-old student from Mirzabazar Islamia Dakhil Madrasa. He was struck by a cattle-laden truck at Choto Kumira Bazar in Sitakunda upazila around 10:30 am. The accident took place when Hasan, who had visited Alekdia Beach in Kumira with classmates, jumped out of a mini truck and stepped onto the highway, where he was run over by the truck.
In a separate incident, Rustom Ali, 69, from Uttar Paschim Syedpur union, died after being hit by a motorcycle in the Choto Darogarhat area of the upazila around 11 am, as reported by OC Zakir Rabbani.
MA Haque, Officer-in-Charge of Baroawlia Highway Police Station, stated that Harunur Rashid, 54, son of Mohrom Ali of Hinguri Para, was killed when a sand-laden truck hit him in the Baroawlia area of the upazila early Thursday.
