Dhaka: The Ministry of Religious Affairs has urged hajj pilgrims to avoid direct exposure to sunlight following directives from the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. The ministry requested the pilgrims to take several preventive measures for their safety, said a press release.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the pilgrims have been advised to take rest in shaded areas and use transport for movement. They were also asked to carry umbrellas or arrange head coverings while walking and use shaded routes. The ministry emphasized the importance of staying hydrated by drinking water regularly. To ensure comfortable worship, pilgrims have been urged to avoid staying under the sun for long periods without protection and to refrain from walking in direct sunlight during excessive heat.
The ministry stated that it has been carrying out extensive activities jointly with the Saudi government this year to raise awareness among hajj pilgrims. This initiative aims to ensure the health and safety of the pilgrims during their stay, encouraging them to adhere to the recommended guidelines for their well-being.
