Banani: An unidentified boy, estimated to be around 12 years old, succumbed to injuries after falling from the roof of a train in the Sainik Club area under Banani Police Station in the capital. The incident occurred on Wednesday and has raised concerns about the safety of young individuals around moving trains.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the boy was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) with critical injuries at approximately 5:30pm. Medical professionals at the emergency department declared him dead upon arrival. The tragic sequence of events began when the boy fell from the roof of a moving train around 3pm, as witnessed by Synthia Akhter, a pedestrian who promptly assisted in transporting him to the hospital.
Initially, the injured boy was taken to Kurmitola General Hospital. However, as his condition worsened, he was transferred to DMCH for further medical intervention. Despite these efforts, the boy could not be saved.
Inspector Md Faruk, the officer in charge of the DMCH police camp, reported that the boy's body is currently being held at the hospital morgue. Authorities have informed the concerned Railway Police Station about the incident, as they look into the circumstances surrounding this tragic accident.
