Panchagarh: State Minister for Water Resources Farhad Hossain Azad today emphasized the need for public resistance against land grabbers, stating that while land grabbing may benefit an individual, it harms the public. He made these remarks during the inauguration of a three-day land services fair organized by the district administration at the Panchagarh Collectorate premises.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Farhad Hossain Azad stressed the government’s commitment to reclaiming grabbed land, highlighting that such land is a public asset. He asserted that rightful ownership should be respected, underscoring the importance of legal documentation in land ownership. The minister also mentioned that the current government prioritizes land issues and actively involves students in these initiatives to prepare them for future leadership roles.
During his visit to the fair, the state minister toured nine stalls and advised on simplifying land services for attendees. The event was attended by various officials, including Panchagarh District Administrator Mosa. Shukria Parvin, Acting Superintendent of Police Sifat-e-Rabbani, and Civil Surgeon Dr. Mizanur Rahman. Public Prosecutor Advocate Mirza Nazmul Islam Kajol and District Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Professor Iqbal Hossain were also present.
Earlier in the day, Farhad Hossain Azad participated in a land services rally organized by the district administration. He officially opened the fair by cutting a ribbon and releasing balloons and pigeons, marking the beginning of the event.
