Dhaka: Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Bangladesh Abdulla Ali Alhmoudi today paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister’s Defence Adviser Brigadier General (Retd.) Dr AKM Shamsul Islam. The meeting took place at the office of the Defence Adviser at Armed Forces Division in Dhaka Cantonment, where a two-member UAE delegation joined the discussions, as reported in a release from the Inter-Services Public Relations Directorate.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, during the meeting, both sides exchanged greetings and discussed the existing bilateral relations between Bangladesh and the UAE. The discussions focused on strengthening defence cooperation, exchanging experiences, and exploring future areas of collaboration. They emphasized the importance of enhancing defence and security cooperation, training, capacity building, and professional exchanges to further strengthen the friendly relations between the two countries.
The release noted that both parties see significant potential for expanding defence cooperation based on the existing cordial ties between Bangladesh and the UAE. Regional and global security issues were also addressed during the meeting, with both sides emphasizing the importance of continued constructive cooperation to promote peace, stability, and security.
