Bogura: A bus helper was killed in a head-on collision between a passenger bus and a stone-laden truck in Shajahanpur upazila of the district this morning. The deceased was identified as Md Bitul, 37, son of Md Bulu Mia of Velupara area under Sonatala upazila in the district.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the accident took place in Banani Bazar area around 6.00 am. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shajahanpur Police Station Ashiq Iqbal stated that an AB Deluxe passenger bus collided head-on with a stone-laden truck, leaving helper Bitul critically injured.
Locals rescued him and rushed him to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared him dead. Police seized both the bus and the truck involved in the accident and took them to Sherpur Highway Police Station. Legal proceedings in connection with the incident are underway, the OC added.
