Rajshahi: A World Bank team today inspected two sub-projects being implemented at Rajshahi University (RU) under Component-2.2 of the Higher Education Acceleration and Transformation (HEAT) Project. Led by Environmental Specialist Sharlin Hossain, the team met with Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Professor Main Uddin and Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) Professor Farid Uddin Khan this afternoon to discuss the progress and implementation of the sub-projects.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the inspection included team members Shariful Islam, Munabberur Rashid, and Jobeda, along with sub-project Deputy Managers Professor Rezaul Karim from the Department of Statistics and Professor Akhtar Hossain from the Department of Fisheries. Assistant managers and other relevant officials were also present during the meeting.
Later, the team members visited the respective sub-project offices to discuss implementation progress and other matters with the sub-project authorities. The two sub-projects being implemented at RU are focused on advancing educational infrastructure and methodologies. The first sub-project, ‘Modernization of Teaching-Learning Infrastructure with Innovative Technologies in Statistics and Data Science to Seize the Opportunities of 4IR,’ is being executed at the Department of Statistics. The second sub-project, ‘Innovation in Fisheries Education for Future Leaders Through Capacity Building and Inclusive Facilities,’ is underway at the Department of Fisheries.
