Tangail: Two brothers drowned in a pond at Paniabanda village under Porabari union in Sadar upazila here on Sunday. The deceased were identified as Mobasir Hossain, 12, and Mostafizur Rahman, 8, sons of Bazlur Rahman Majnu of the same area.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, local residents reported that the brothers had been missing since Sunday morning. Their bodies were later discovered floating in the pond near their home at noon.
The victims were rushed to Tangail General Hospital, where the on-duty doctors declared them dead. Officer-in-Charge of Tangail Sadar Model Police Station M Ruhul Amin confirmed the matter.
