Keraniganj: A construction worker died after falling from a seven-storey under-construction building in South Keraniganj area of the capital on Friday afternoon. The deceased was identified as Golam Rasul, a construction labourer. Saiful Alam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of South Keraniganj Police Station, confirmed the matter.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the incident occurred in the Hasnabad Rearview area, where the worker fell from the roof of the building and died on the spot. On-the-spot observation found that the under-construction building had no safety net or protective measures in place, posing serious risks not only to workers but also to pedestrians on the adjacent road.
The OC stated that a case of unnatural death is being processed with the police station in this connection.
