Shariatpur: Police recovered the remains of an unidentified person from the Padma River in Naria upazila of Shariatpur on Friday. Locals discovered a white polythene bag stuck to a block along the riverbank near the WAPDA area in Kedarpur union around 3:00 pm and promptly alerted the police.
According to United News of Bangladesh, members of Naria Police Station and river police responded quickly to the scene. Upon recovering the bag and opening it, they found two hands up to the elbows and two legs up to the knees, all in a semi-decomposed state, belonging to an unidentified individual.
Abdul Jalil, the in-charge of Sureshwar river police outpost, stated that the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) team in Faridpur has been notified to assist in identifying the victim. He also mentioned that an inquest report has been prepared, and legal action is presently underway.
