Mirsarai: Police have arrested a truck driver with 82 kg of ganja in Mirsarai upazila. The arrest took place during a raid on the Dhaka-Chatogram highway, as confirmed by Mirsarai thana Officer-in-Charge Farida Yasmin.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the operation was executed by Mirsarai thana police who set up a check post in front of the police station. The arrested individual, identified as Mashraf Uddin Rahat, is 19 years old and hails from the Sundarpur area of Feni Sadar upazila.
During initial questioning, Rahat disclosed that the truck's main driver, Rakibul Islam Sujan, had tasked him with driving the vehicle to Chattogram from the Baroirhat area. Sujan, who is 31 years old, is currently on the run.
OC Farida Yasmin reported that a case has been filed under the Narcotics Control Act against both Rahat and the fugitive Sujan.
