PM Joins Doa Mahfil for Late Mother of Social Welfare Minister

Dhaka: Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Wednesday joined a doa mahfil for Begum Jebunnesa, mother of Social Welfare, and Women and Children Affairs Minister Prof Dr AZM Zahid Hossain, who died last week: Prime Minister’s Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Rumon said Tarique Rahman attended the doa mahfil held after Asr prayers at Gulshan Azad Mosque in the capital.



According to United News of Bangladesh, the Prime Minister also participated in a munajat seeking eternal peace and forgiveness for the departed soul of the minister’s mother. The event saw the presence of leaders and activists from BNP and its associate bodies, who joined relatives and well-wishers in paying their respects.



Begum Jebunnesa passed away while receiving treatment at a private hospital in the capital on May 7 at the age of 83. In a condolence message released on the day of her passing, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman expressed deep shock and offered profound sympathy to her grieving family members, relatives, and well-wishers.
