Dinajpur: A man and his son were stabbed to death allegedly by two of his sons from his second marriage over a property dispute in the Mondolpara area of Chirirbandar upazila on Tuesday morning. The victims have been identified as Dulu Mia, 70, and his son Kabil, 30. Another son, Habil, sustained injuries during the assault.
According to United News of Bangladesh, Chirirbandar Police Station Officer-in-Charge, Mahmudul Nabi, reported that Dulu Mia had four sons from two marriages. A long-standing dispute over the distribution of approximately 16 bighas of land owned by Dulu Mia had been ongoing. The conflict reached a violent climax when two sons from his second marriage, identified as Sadequl and Sakib, allegedly attacked their father and step-brother Kabil with sharp weapons, resulting in their immediate deaths.
The two accused individuals fled the scene following the incident. Police efforts are currently focused on locating and apprehending the suspects. The bodies of the deceased have been sent to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
