Chattogram: Indian Navy Ship INS Sunayna has arrived at Chattogram Port for a three-day goodwill visit to Bangladesh. The visit is part of efforts to enhance bilateral relations and professional exchanges between the Indian and Bangladeshi navies.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Bangladeshi Navy ship Ali Haider welcomed INS Sunayna upon its arrival in Bangladeshi waters. The Chief Staff Officer of the Chattogram Naval Area received the ship's captain, officers, and sailors at the port. The Navy's band played traditional music to mark the occasion, with senior Navy officials and a representative from the Indian High Commission in Bangladesh present.
During the visit, a delegation comprising the ship's captain and the Naval Advisor of the Indian High Commission in Bangladesh plans to pay courtesy calls on various officials. These officials include the Commander of the Chattogram Naval Area, the Commander of the BN Fleet, the Area Superintendent Dockyard, and the Chairman of the Chattogram Port Authority.
The visiting officers and sailors will have the opportunity to explore the training base and ships of the Bangladesh Navy, as well as significant historical and tourist sites in Chattogram. In exchange, officers and sailors from the Bangladesh Navy will visit the Indian ship. This exchange aims to foster professional experiences and strengthen the existing ties between the two countries.
INS Sunayna is scheduled to depart Bangladeshi waters on May 10, 2026.
