Dhaka: The Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase (CCGP) today approved a proposal to purchase two crore litres of refined soybean oil to meet the country’s growing demand. The decision was made during the 20th meeting of the CCGP this year, which was held at the Bangladesh Secretariat and chaired by Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the committee approved a proposal from the Ministry of Commerce for procuring the refined soybean oil through the international open tender method. The total cost for this procurement is set at Taka 282.57 crore.
The recommended supplier for this procurement is PT TRINITY CAHYA ENERGY, based in Jakarta, Indonesia. Despite the supplier’s location in Indonesia, the soybean oil will be sourced from Europe and the European Union.
