Dhaka: The Alliance Fran§aise de Dhaka and the Goethe-Institut Dhaka have entered into a partnership in Bangladesh to promote shared European fundamental values through strategic and structural cooperation, as well as coordinated public initiatives and events in the country.
According to United News of Bangladesh, Alliance Fran§aise de Dhaka Director Fran§ois Chambraud and Goethe-Institut Bangladesh Director Frank Werner signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in this regard on Wednesday. The signing took place ahead of Europe Day, which is set to be celebrated on May 9. The event was witnessed by the Ambassador of France, Jean-Marc S©r©-Charlet, and the Ambassador of Germany, Dr. Rdiger Lotz, as stated by the French Embassy in Dhaka on Thursday.
The collaboration between these cultural institutes underscores the Franco-German relationship as a pivotal force in Europe. This partnership is further accentuated by the unique co-location of the French and German embassies in Dhaka, highlighting the cooperative role of France and Germany in European integration.
Under the terms of the MoU, both institutions will engage in joint educational initiatives such as shared training programs, classroom observations, exchange of best practices, and collaborative workshops. Additionally, they will make their premises available for both individual and joint cultural events.
Ambassador Jean-Marc S©r©-Charlet emphasized that the partnership strengthens cultural cooperation and supports shared European values in Bangladesh. Through these joint educational and cultural initiatives, the aim is to improve teaching practices and enhance the visibility of France and the European Union in Bangladesh.
Ambassador Dr. Rdiger Lotz remarked that the collaboration reflects the strong Franco-German commitment to European integration and shared values. By encouraging exchanges between the institutions in Dhaka, there is an aim to improve teaching methods, support professional development, and bring European cultures closer to Bangladesh.
