Rampal: The birth of four babies at once has filled a family in Rampal with immense happiness, but that joy is now overshadowed by serious financial hardship.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Alauddin Goldar, a resident of Kamrangar Char in Rampal upazila, earns just 7,000 taka per month as a muazzem at a local mosque in Perikhali Bazar. Even before the recent births, he was struggling to support his six-member household. With the arrival of four newborns on February 26, the family has grown to ten, including his parents.

His wife, Monira Begum, gave birth to the quadruplets at Khulna Medical College Hospital. The couple already has two daughters, aged 15 and 8. Although both the mother and the newborns are currently in good health, the family now faces a daunting challenge in meeting the daily cost of food and medical care.

Alauddin stated that feeding the babies requires around 1,500 taka worth of milk each day, an amount far beyond his means. “On one hand, I feel immense joy, but on the other, I am overwhelmed with worry,” Alauddin said. “Spending 1,500 taka daily on milk is simply not possible for me.”

He added that he has received only a one-time assistance of 1,000 taka from the Department of Social Services, which is far from sufficient. He appealed for support from the government and well-off members of society to help ensure proper care for the children.

Local residents say the family had already been facing financial difficulties, and the sudden addition of four newborns has made the situation even more critical. With no substantial aid received so far, the family’s future remains uncertain.

Community members and authorities stepping in at this point could help secure a healthy and stable future for the newborns.
