Dhaka: The Traffic Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed a total of 1,357 cases against vehicles, their owners, and drivers for violating traffic rules. Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations Division) of DMP, NM Nasiruddin, stated that the traffic division conducted a drive against traffic rule violators over the last 24 hours and filed the cases.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the DMP traffic police also dumped 358 motor vehicles and towed 148 vehicles during the drive on May 2. Several teams of the DMP Traffic Division have been working to ensure a smooth traffic system in the capital and facilitate easy movement for city dwellers.
The drive against traffic violators will continue to ensure discipline on Dhaka’s streets, NM Nasiruddin said. The breakdown of the cases filed includes Ramna Division with 70 cases, Lalbagh Division 122, Motijheel Traffic Division 150, Wari Division 178, Tejgaon Division 104, Mirpur Division 445, Uttara Division 163, and Gulshan Division 125 against motor vehicles, including three-wheelers and motorcycles.
