Government Ensures Smooth Journey for Hajj Pilgrims, Says Minister Afroza

Manikganj: Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam Rita has announced that the government is dedicated to ensuring a smooth journey for hajj pilgrims this year. The minister highlighted the collaborative efforts between the civil aviation ministry and the religion affairs ministry aimed at facilitating a successful hajj pilgrimage.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Minister Afroza made these remarks while speaking to journalists at the Natun Kuri Sports inauguration at Manikganj Shahid Miraj-Tapon Stadium. She assured that most of the pilgrims have already arrived safely in Saudi Arabia, with the remaining pilgrims scheduled to reach without any issues.



The minister addressed the issue of aircraft shortages, stating that the government is in the process of acquiring new aircraft to accommodate the travel demands. Additionally, she mentioned that the third terminal of Dhaka Airport is expected to open by the end of the year, with final discussions between Bangladesh and Japan nearing completion.



Minister Afroza also clarified that there are no plans to change the current name of Dhaka Airport, stating that any such decision would depend on public demand and the Prime Minister’s guidance.
