Dhaka: Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Iqbal Hassan Mahmood today emphasized that renewable energy has become indispensable for building a sustainable energy sector in Bangladesh. “We believe a sustainable, affordable and accountable energy system will be the foundation of Bangladesh’s future progress,” he stated during a function organized by the Sustainable and Renewable Energy Solution Initiative at a city hotel.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the minister stressed the importance of long-term planning and transparency within the energy sector. He also highlighted the significance of the entry of internationally reputed companies like Lesso Solar and Zero Technology into the Bangladeshi market, describing it as both timely and significant for the country’s energy transition.
Jatiya Sangsad Whip M. Ruhul Quddus Talukder Dulu, who spoke as a special guest at the event, called for collective efforts to enhance energy security and promote sustainable industrial growth in Bangladesh. He emphasized the need for collaboration to secure the nation’s energy future.
Lesso Solar and Zero Technology have formally entered Bangladesh’s renewable energy market through Greenery Energy Solutions Limited (GESL), marking a pivotal shift towards sustainable energy. GESL, a sister concern of Livenza Group, has been designated as the exclusive distribution partner for both brands in Bangladesh and the sole national distributor of Lesso Solar.
Sanzid Shahnoor, Managing Director of GESL, shared the company’s vision to foster sustainable transformation in the energy sector by leveraging Livenza Group’s 25 years of business experience alongside Greenery’s international expertise. He mentioned that the company aims not only to supply products but also to assist industries and commercial establishments in reducing electricity consumption through advanced technologies, thereby making them more profitable and environmentally sustainable.
Shahnoor expressed optimism about the transformative role that solar and smart HVAC solutions could play in ensuring a sustainable energy future for Bangladesh.
