Kushtia: Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia has officially released the admission notice and guidelines for first-year undergraduate enrollment under the independent ‘D’ Unit for the 2025-26 academic session. This announcement marks the beginning of the admission process, providing prospective students with key details and timelines for their academic journey.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the notice was signed by ‘D’ Unit Coordinator and Dean of the Faculty of Theology and Islamic Studies, Prof Dr Sekendar Ali, and was made public on Friday. The admission test for the Faculty of Theology and Islamic Studies had previously been held on April 11.
The ‘D’ Unit offers a total of 330 seats, distributed among various departments. Specifically, 80 seats each have been allocated to the departments of Al-Qur’an and Islamic Studies, Al-Hadith and Islamic Studies, and Dawah and Islamic Studies. Meanwhile, the Department of Arabic Language and Literature has been allocated 90 seats.
As outlined in the notice, interviews for candidates listed in the first merit list, which was published on April 12, 2026, are scheduled to take place from May 10 to May 12. These interviews will be held at the ‘D’ Unit coordinator’s office between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm on the specified dates. Candidates who successfully clear the interview process are required to complete the admission formalities within the given timeframe, as failure to do so will result in the cancellation of their nominations.
For students wishing to change their department after the first merit list, the university has provided an opportunity to submit applications from May 14 to May 15. Depending on seat availability, interviews for candidates on the second merit list will be conducted from May 22 to May 23. Like their counterparts on the first merit list, those selected from the second list must also complete the admission process within the stipulated period.
The university authorities have emphasized that any updates or further instructions regarding the admission process will be published on the university’s official website, ensuring that all prospective students have access to the latest information.
