Bogura: An auto-van driver lost his life after being hit by a speeding truck in Nandigram upazila on Thursday afternoon. The tragic incident unfolded when the truck collided with the auto-van at the Kunderhat bus stand area, critically injuring the driver.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the deceased, Hashem Ali, aged 35, was a resident of Kalikapur Sarakpara area in the upazila. He was transporting refrigerators on his auto-van towards Nandigram when the accident occurred. Despite efforts to transport him to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital, Hashem Ali succumbed to his injuries on the way.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Nandigram Kunderhat Highway Police Station, Hafizur Rahman, confirmed the occurrence of the accident. He stated that the truck driver responsible for the collision has been apprehended. "Legal procedures are underway," Rahman added, underscoring that the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
