16 Students Honored with RU Faculty of Arts Dean’s Award

Rajshahi: Sixteen students from the Faculty of Arts at Rajshahi University (RU) have received the Dean's Award for 2023. The award was presented to the students at a ceremony held today in the Senate Building. The event was chaired by Professor Mohammad Belal Hossain, Dean of the Faculty of Arts. Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Professor Mohammad Main Uddin and Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) Professor Farid Uddin Khan were present as special guests.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the top students who received the Dean's Award include Atiya Sakera Sahih and Md. Alamgir Hossain from the Philosophy department, Latifa Khatun and Mahfuza Sultana Mukta from History, and Asaduzzaman Rafi from English. Other awardees include Sabrina Momtaz Ripa and Poly Rani in Bangla, Fatema Nasrin in Islamic History and Culture, and Mahmudul Hasan in Arabic. Umme Habiba was recognized from the Islamic Studies department, Anindita Alamgir from Music, Meftahun Nahar from Theatre, while Khairun Nahar Alo was honored from Persian Language and Literature. Zakia Sultana and Monira Akter were acknowledged in Sanskrit, and Moniza Akter in Urdu. These students earned the award for securing top positions in their respective departments in the Bachelor's (Honors) examination.

During the event, award recipients Meftahun Nahar, Khairun Nahar Alo, Zakia Sultana, and Moniza Akter shared their feelings in speeches. Congratulating the awardees, the guests noted that recognition in any field inspires and instills a greater sense of responsibility in the recipient. They emphasized that teachers, families, and many others contributed to the students' achievements. Furthermore, the guests expressed hope that the Dean's Award recipients will continue to make outstanding contributions in their respective fields both at home and abroad.
