Dhaka: The government has appointed senior journalist Syed Abdal Ahmed as the Principal Information Officer (Grade-1) of the Press Information Department (PID) under the Ministry of Information. The Public Administration Ministry issued a notification regarding this appointment today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Syed Abdal Ahmed is currently serving as the Executive Editor of the daily Amar Desh. He has an extensive background in journalism and has previously served as the General Secretary of the Jatiya Press Club. Additionally, he held the position of Deputy Press Secretary for former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.
The appointment of Syed Abdal Ahmed is on a contractual basis for a one-year term starting from the date of his joining. It is stipulated that he must sever all other professional, business, or employment ties with any government, semi-government, or private institution or organization.
