Imam Hafez Maulana Amirul Islam Farooqui, aged 45, died in a bike accident on his way home after Friday prayers in Mirsarai upazila this afternoon. The incident occurred around 3 pm on Friday in the Wireless area of Mirsarai on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Amirul Islam Farooqui was the head of the Rahamtabad Faruqiya Hafezia Madrasa. He was returning home by bike after leading Friday prayers at a Jama Masjid in the Mehedinagar area of Bariyarhat in the upazila. He was hit by a car in the Wireless area, resulting in his death on the spot.
