Dhaka: 27,325 Hajj pilgrims have reached Saudi Arabia from Bangladesh within the first four days of Hajj travel, as reported by the Hajj bulletin.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a total of 58 flights had landed in Jeddah by 10 am today, as informed by the Director of the Bangladesh Hajj Office, Lokman Hossain. This year, 78,500 Bangladeshis have been granted permission to perform Hajj. The Hajj arrangements are being managed by 660 agencies, including 30 lead agencies and 630 coordinating agencies, under the private arrangement.
Airline data reveals that 10,747 pilgrims arrived on 26 flights operated by Biman Bangladesh Airlines, 9,782 on 25 flights by Saudi Airlines, and 6,796 on 17 flights by Flynas Airlines. The remaining 50,964 pilgrims are expected to arrive gradually on designated flights, the director noted.
Information from the Hajj office indicates that 4,565 pilgrims will perform Hajj under government management, while 73,935 will do so under private arrangements. The holy Hajj is scheduled to take place on May 26, subject to the sighting of the moon.
