Dhaka: Five more people have died across the country due to suspected measles in the last 24 hours, according to a press release sent from the control room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the number of suspected measles patients in the last 24 hours is 1,229, with the total number of suspected cases from March 15 to April 22 reaching 27,164. In the last 24 hours alone, 129 cases have been confirmed as measles.
Since March 15, hospitals have admitted 17,998 people with suspected measles, while 14,892 have recovered and been discharged. Although no deaths from confirmed measles occurred in the last 24 hours, there have been 38 deaths from confirmed measles from March 15 to April 22.
In the last 24 hours, the total number of deaths from suspected measles has risen to 190 since March 15. The Dhaka Division reported the highest number of suspected cases, with 12,058 infections. Of these, 2,634 cases have been confirmed as measles.
